Being a nintendo fanboy has its disadvantages, at times you don't get to play the hottest games or have the biggest library to choose from, or get to experience many game-play features that are widely available on other platforms eg. on-line play. But with the wide success of the Wii that has slowly been changing.

Which brings us to the latest version of the powerhouse known as Madden '08. I've only played two games on-line thus far, but here are a few of my initial observations.

* The gameplay is pretty spot on, but the game seems to hitch up every now and again. Which is fairly annoying, while that was okay in the Doom days, this is unacceptable in the broadband era. So just about every time my opponent or I tried to run the hurry-up offense, the game flagged us for a false start. Weak.

*I wish a more comprehensive chat feature was enabled, so I could have called my first opponent out for being a bitch when he wanted to quit when I was making a run toward the end of the first half. I was getting the ball at the start of the second half and pa98lmigser (not their actual screen name) couldn't handle the heat!

* I loved taking out my second late-night opponent as he tried to go out bitch style by selecting the Pats and trying to hit Moss on every pass play. Final score Steelers 37 - Pats 13 w/ eight sacks and two picks, take that bitch!

At this rate, I probably won't be getting much sleep this year:)
